The map “Four days in Wilno” is based on the chapter – “Wilno” – from the book delineating Döblin’s journey to Poland in the fall of 1924. The map attempts to follow Döblin’s itinerary verbatim, with each day of the visit representing a new experience of Wilno, providing a kaleidoscopic insight into the topographical, cultural, historical and linguistic setting of the place.
